Vacancy: Supervisor

As a Cardfinishing Supervisor, you are the person who keeps an overview when production is running at full speed. You manage our Team Leads, maintain a visible presence on the production floor and ensure that people, planning, quality and performance come together. You focus not only on what needs to be produced today, but also on how we can do things better tomorrow.

You are a people manager who also understands what it takes to keep a production environment running smoothly. You are confident in making decisions, address issues when necessary and, at the same time, give Team Leads the space and coaching they need to further develop.

Vacancy: Supervisor

Ridderkerk | Full-time | Production

Our Cardfinishing department is undergoing significant development. We are growing, professionalising the way we work and giving our teams increasing levels of responsibility. This requires strong leadership on the production floor. That is why we are looking for a Cardfinishing Supervisor who will manage our Team Leads and work with them to ensure a safe, stable and high-performing production department.

In this role, you will not spend all day behind a desk; you will mainly be found on the production floor. You are visible, know what is going on and respond quickly when production demands it. At the same time, you look beyond today’s schedule. You analyse performance, address structural bottlenecks and help improve the way we work every day. When pressure increases, you remain calm and know how to motivate people to get the job done.

What you will do

As a Supervisor within Cardfinishing, you are responsible for the day-to-day management of the department. You directly manage the Team Leads and report to the Cardfinishing Manager.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing, supporting and coaching the Cardfinishing Team Leads.

  • Monitoring production planning, capacity, output and departmental performance, and knowing when adjustments are needed.

  • Ensuring clear expectations, responsibilities and effective collaboration within the department, helping to create a safe working environment for employees.

  • Managing employee availability, development and performance. You actively contribute to building a strong feedback culture on the production floor.

  • Initiating and leading improvement projects together with the Cardfinishing Manager.

  • Creating and maintaining standards, working agreements and processes.

  • Ensuring quality, safety, security, order and cleanliness on the production floor.

What you can do

We are not looking for a Supervisor who simply monitors the production schedule. We are looking for someone who takes the lead and actively contributes ideas. We are still at the beginning of the department’s sustainable growth, and your experience can make a real difference.

You coach your employees, helping us create a constructive feedback environment, and you understand which responsibilities can and cannot be delegated to your Team Leads. You combine input from employees with available data to continuously monitor our processes and improve them where necessary.

In addition, you have:

  • Experience in a leadership role within a production environment.

  • Experience managing and developing other leaders, or the ambition and capabilities to take this next step.

  • A coaching leadership style that provides employees with clarity and direction.

  • Strong analytical skills and the drive to focus on root causes and results.

  • A proactive mindset: you do not wait for things to happen, but recognise what needs to be done and take action.

  • The ability to communicate clearly and consistently.

  • An interest in continuous improvement and experience with, or an interest in, improvement projects.

  • A functional command of English; Dutch is a plus.

  • A strong focus on safety, quality, security and maintaining a clean and organised working environment.

What you will get
  • A gross monthly salary starting from €4,000, depending on experience.

  • A 25% shift allowance when working a three-shift schedule.

  • 28 vacation days.

  • Travel allowance.

  • The opportunity to work in a modern production environment alongside an ambitious team.

  • The opportunity to participate in our corporate fitness programme and bicycle scheme.

  • Additional employment benefits in accordance with the Grafimedia Collective Labour Agreement (CAO).

  • Enjoyable summer and winter parties and team outings.
